Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon big-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear effectively.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase to the item's base stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that has them or by using a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are primarily used to upgrade an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level or experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can also be made to provide extra bonuses. For instance, a specially created glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, while an upgrade boost will enhance the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the upgrade components to which the item can be updated. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a different experience multiplier that affects the amount of experience an item will gain when it is upgraded with the component. For instance, organic components have a an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. You should upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier, each item also has an maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades available is determined by the upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon that is 10th level. The most common weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that all share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. Following upgrades, the primary stats will be enhanced even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrades can also increase a weapon's damage base. This can be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give a higher maximum defence roll than their base. It is possible to increase value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they're not always better than a Runeword with a high level.
If you are upgrading an item that has bonuses it can be rerolled one time, and its guarantee will reset to zero. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, however the new item will have various bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector and are available for purchase with Gold. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can roll any item they have acquired in the game provided they have enough reroll tokens. When an upgraded item gets being rerolled, it can be exchanged for the level 1 version of the same item from a different set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for small amounts of in-game currency, however they aren't refundable. The new item will offer the same bonuses as the original, but the statistics will also differ.
Players can change the identification of their equipment, in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and the attributes it requires. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.
The player can also upgrade the level of an item for any equipment that is equipped. This can be done by engaging with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade items. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, item type and the number of crests. In the case of weapons, each upgrade will add an additional 5percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, but they can also reduce its quality. It is therefore essential to strike a balance between the two. Some items may not be worth upgrading, while others will need to be upgraded to reach their potential. A player might want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modification ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to see what else it can become.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it in order to get an item or character they would not otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only other options are to spend real money or grind extensively. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I think it was meant to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but since the majority of gear drops quickly and is only upgraded one level up and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes old enough. It is also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh any increase in the level of.
If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the crest and Valorstone costs to boost the level of the item. Armor and weapons will have different costs, with the former usually being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current base ilvl.

The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. In addition, the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For example, a weapon with an upgrade decrease of 8% will decrease its count by 8-8 percent.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base the item will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block, and parry rating. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item is able to receive when it is leveled can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons apart from practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor, like tiaras and circlets.
